to the river we go

We finally left the hotel about 12:30, off down to the tower, to catch a boat. We hopped on the metro like old pros and got a seat. It took about 20 minutes to get to the Trocadero. There we decided it was time to eat, so we shared a bagette with ham and cheese and tomatoes. We sat on a bench in the shade and watched all the tourists run around.

After we finished we wandered off down to the baot dock, and took a Beautux Parisian for a ride along the Siene. We caught the 2 PM launch and away we went. It was a perfect day to be outside, sunny, not too warm and some clouds. The ride was about an hour long.
Time for some ice cream and another bench, this ime in the sun, watching all the street merchants, trying to sell small towers to everyone, including us. We took more photos, adn then back across the river to the Trocadero to catch the metro back to the hotel.

Jan was teaching and lecturing somewhere, so we haven’t seen her today. Back at the room, I fell asleep. I was a little short on sleep, because someone who shall remain nameless (Barry), called us at 3 AM this morning. I bolted out of bed, and couldn’t get to my phone in time, before it went to voice mail. So we didn’t find out until this moring that he was calling to be funny – not really – I am pooped.

I downloaded all the photos, and we took a look to see if any of them are keepers. Then we decided we needed to eat someting, so out and about we went. Not far. To El Rancho, a Tex Mex place, the food was good, and so was the beer. We, of course, had to have desert as well. Creme bruele and some chocolate stuff – very good.
We wandered back to the hotel, to find the internet in the room, still down 🙁 drats, so down to the lobby I go again. Actually, I powered everything off, unplugged the modem, swore at it, plugged everything back in, and powered up, and tada – it works, so no trip to the lobby is needed.
