Driving through the Sierras

Yesterday we went on a jaunt into the “mountains”, well big hills with trees.
We took off toward Grass Valley and Nevada City, then took a small road up and around the Sierras and ended up neat Truckee.
From there we decided to go to Gold Ranch, and small place, just over the border into Nevada near Reno. The last 5 miles was through driving rain and the temp dropped from about 21 to 8, and I’m wearing shorts !
We gassed up the car, had lunch and then gambled a bit. I came away 50$ ahead, so that was a good thing. The drive back was the same thing, about 5 miles of driving rain and slick roads, back into sun shine and +30 by the time we got back into the city.
Since I won at the casino I bought supper – Round Table Pizza – the gourmet veggie with artichokes and lots of garlic.
We somehow missed rush hour or were going in the opposite direction of it. Easy driving back to the trailer.

  1. Glad you got out of that rain! You had enough of that in Kelowna – now you need the sunshine! Sounds like you are having more of a relaxing time. Enjoy! Look forward to reading about your adventures
