Another text at 4am and I was awake for the rest of the night. O well I can sleep on the coach.
Another good breakfast and we are away toward Oslo.
Another heart stopping drive to the top before descending into the valley. We stopped again at Lom for a “flourish” – cinnamon buns. We went to the store and I picked up more eucalyptus mints for my throat and cold cappuccino to perk us up.
On the road again going south. We had a quick pee stop and then away.
We stopped in Lillehammer for lunch by the art museum. We wandered the pedestrian street looking for a good place to eat. We settled for the 711 – not a place to get anything good you would think. We a piece of pizza, and it was very good. Sat outside in the sun, it’s warmed up considerably from the Arctic Circle. It’s 20 here. We did a bit of wandering found the free WC and then back on the bus.
Away to Oslo. We hit it just as rush hour started. There was a big accident with a tanker truck in front of us, and Pal maneuvered the coach up and around and through all the traffic. He sure knows his way through the traffic.
Our hotel is connected to the train station and across the street from the pedestrian street. Right in the middle of everything.
Found the ice machine and put the beer and coke on ice. Time for happy hour.
After a couple of beer we were off in search of food. We didn’t wander far. We found an Egon and sat down. Pizza again and it was just as good. But again we ate too much.
We wandered off to walk up the opera house. It’s a bunch of square shaped cement structures with an incline walking path. We made it to the top – huffing and puffing all the way. Lots of cranes on the skyline, so that kind of spoiled the view.
Took some photos and wandered back to the room. Now we can sit and rest for a bit before bed.
