Well, it is raining here – drats. And we had enough sun screen on yesterday, so we are not burned.
I guess I should get up outa bed, it was so easy to just roll over, pick up the laptop and start typing.
But it is time to get up and get going, I think we are going on a jet boat up a river to some falls, but who knows.
Well, we drove down to the Mount and had breakfast in a place close to where we had lunch yesterday. I had scrambled eggs, that weren’t cooked all that much, and turkish bread for toast. We walked across the street to look at the waves pounding the beach.
Back to the house, the real estate agents have left, grabbed some water and off we go towards the kiwi place. What a neat place, we took a tour on a little train, in cars shaped like kiwis, learned all about why they are one of the best foods to eat, and how they grow. We tasted some kiwi juice and liquor, and then off agaon. http://www.kiwi360.com/
We stopped at Spring Loaded, (http://www.springloadedfunpark.co.nz/) a place that has a little farm tour, and jet boats. Vicki and I were game, but we waited till Marj said ok, then we got tickets for the trip. What a fantastic river, we went 12.5 K up this river, doing 360 spins every once in a while. The vegation around this river was so grean. When we got to the little rapids where we couldn’t go any further, we were 17 Ks from the nearest road. The sun came out just in time for us to take some good photos.
We had a great time, and they gave us a hunk to drive, it was only the 3 of us, so we all sat at the front – wow what a rush. I tried to take photos on the way, and even a movie of 2. Once we got back we of course had to buy the CD with our photos, and then went through their little petting zoo – a goat, some sheep and rabits, adn freh water eels. They told us not to touch the eels on their nose, asn that was how they fed them, by tapping on their nose.
So we got a little wet, but what the heck, back in the car and off again.
We drove to the little stream where they fish for trout. What a neat place, right where the water comes in from Lake Rotorua. We got out and walked around, and watched the guys fish. This place was next to a Mauri village, so we stopped at their meeting hall.
Back in the car again, and back to Papamoa. It is still overcast, and the wind has picked up a bit, but it is not raining.
Well I spoke too soon about the rain. We got back to the house, and then I downloaded the photos, and we took a look. 25$ for 5 photos, at least they are good photos. We put in a load of wash and hung them out to dry, after supper the wind picked up again, and it started to rain, so much for hanging our colthes on the line.
It is good that it is raining, they need the rain.
