Up early this morning to go on our last tour. Walked over to the bus stop. Got picked by a shuttle to take us over to Albufeira to pick up people.
Off we went towards Silves – first stop. We had to walk up narrow winding streets up hill to the fort. Wandered inside the fort for a bit then back out and down towards the river. We stopped to have a coffee while waiting for the driver to finish his breakfast.
Back on the bus and onwards toward Monchique mountain. Highest spot in the Algarve – 902m. Very windy at the top. You could see forever in all directions. We came part wAy down and stopped for lunch.
Onwards toward Cape St Vincent – End of the World. This is the most westerly and southerly point in Europe. Again very windy. Great views of the cliffs.
From there we went to Lagos, where the slaves first got brought to Europe. Again we wandered the narrow cobblestone streets. We found a great gelato place.
Back on the bus and back toward Quarteira. We picked up a pizza for supper.
Another great day.
