Home from Kimberly

Hi all,
Carole and I are back home again after our trip to Kimberly for Aunt Gene’s funeral. We got there Thursday, I arrived in the afternoon, and hung out with Aunt Angie for the day. We picked up Carole at the airport after supper. We then went to Aunt Gene’s house where all her family were gathered. We spent a couple of hours there, and then over to Ron & Darlene’s place. We had to get directions because our GPS was a little off (Aunt Angie).

The funeral was Friday morning. Then a gathering for lunch in the hall. While we were in the hall in rained and hailed a bit. We waited for the rain to end, and then hurried back to Ron & Darlene’s for a bit. We heard the thunder and knew Aunt Gene was up with the rest of our departed family having a great time. Once the sun came back out we went over to Aunt Gene’s to visit with all her family. Back to Ron’s for chinese food and good Taber corn (courtesy of Billy & Karen) and more cards. A late night
Saturday, after a slow morning, and a fantastic breakfast by Darlene, we toured around Kimberly, stopping for ice cream where Sara (Matt’s girlfriend works). Again back to Ron’s. Some of Aunt Gene’s family came over to visit. We had great bbq’d burgers and more corn for supper. Finally, Ron and Wilmar won a game of Crib – the board game – after 72 hours. Another late night of cards and talk.
Carole and I were up early, thanks to Ron and Darlene and their alarm clock. We flew out around 10 am, and I was home by 1 and I think Carole said she would be home around 1.
I want to thank Darlene & Ron for all the hard work they did to take such good care of us. We had a wonderful time, it was fantastic.
I put some of my photos online, they are here
