Jan 11 – Back into the air to Guayaquil

My lovely queen size bed was a board to sleep on. Up around 7, and fiddled with our bags getting everything back in them. I can’t remember if I said or not but we bought an extra duffle to carry our “bootie” in. We still have way less luggage than most of the people with us.
Down for breakfast and more fruit. We drank a lot of yogurt this morning to help the side effects of the fruit.
Got all the bags and down to wait for the little bus to take us to the airport. All the bags and all the people actually fit on the bus. Nice easy trip. Someone met us and got our bags checked and boarding passes through without a hitch. Now to wait again.

Onto the plane and this time we are all near the front. Short trip, only about 45 minutes.
Grabbed our bags off the carousel and hustled out to grab a cab. Boy is it every hot and humid. We had a crazy ride to the hotel, the cabbie doing 80 to 90 in a 60 zone. We were the first to get our rooms.

Dropped our bags and headed back down to have lunch with the ones waiting for their rooms. The two people have joined us. They seem to fit right in. After lunch we went back up to the room and I started to backup our photos. Finally got something to work and put some photos up.
Out for a walk. Took our lives in our hands and raced across the street to the park. Walked about two blocks to find an entrance. Wandered down through the park. It is Sunday so lots of family’s with little kids. We wandered to almost the end, then out onto the street and wandered back to the hotel. Strenuous day! More backups and then down to meet the group to see where we are going for supper. Turns out there is nothing around, so back into the dinning room. The menu hasn’t changed since we were here 4 hours ago. We sat and talked and ate. Then an early night as we are up and out the door by 7:30 to wander the mangroves.

  1. I am thinking your link to your photos is broken or I am a complete dummy (which may be the case!) as I cannot get to your photos. Am enjoying your blog. Sounds like the amazon was great and like Jenny said I was tired just reading it! But that’s what it’s all about. Do and see all you can, you can sleep after you get home!
