Friday
Crawled out of bed early and down for breakfast. It’s a travel day today, we have to go over 500km and then a train ride on the side of a fjord. Should be interesting.
Nice scenery, mountains and water with waterfalls. The sun shone a bit but mostly cloudy. We stopped for the morning break st a little village by a river. Into the bakery I went.
More scenery and fjords for the rest of the morning. We stopped at the crossroads for lunch. Again a little village with only 400 people. Grabbed a sandwich and sat and enjoyed the atmosphere.
More trees and mountains and little waterfalls. We stopped for a pee break because where we are going to catch the train, nothing is open, so no WC.
The train ride was an hour with some more trees and mountains except looking down and not up.
At the hotel there is another group checking in, and it was a sh*t show for 1 elevator for 16 floors. Luckily we only had to up to the 4th floor, so we got more exercise and walked up. Good thing our bags were already up.
Out to wander the streets to find a place to eat. We settled for Chinese food. Not bad, similar to small town Canadian Chinese food – lots and lots of sauce.
We wandered back to the hotel to have a late and short happy hour. The conversation tonight went down hill fast and we were all laughing. We decided our tour group was full of fruit loops, but the 4 of us were not part of that.
This hotel is “functional Scandinavian” meaning no padding and sort of square, just like their buildings.
