Joy & Ira called us at 6 to say they were almost ready. So we got up and went to the lobby to say goodbye and thanks for everything.
We crawled back up to the room and back to bed. We are kinda tired. Up again at 8 and time to get ready for our next adventure – getting to the car rental place, and then driving to Lynn & Barrie’s. This should be interesting.
There seems to be a problem with connecting to Google to upload photos – drats. When I can get connected, I’ll upload a bunch.
By the way it is 18 and sunny here 🙂
Well we survived, without too much trouble. Cost us 70$ for the taxi to the rental place – ouch !!
Signed our life away, got instructions on how to get to the highway, and away we went. tight left loose right – and be on the left side of the road. We got a nice little Toyota. We stopped along the way to fill the petrol tank – another ouch 53$, the gas is 1.68$ per liter.
Down the highway, and right past the turn we needed, so we took an exit onto a small road, wandered a bit, and then got back onto the highway going in the opposite direction, and onto the exit that we needed. Now we are on a smaller highway. We stopped again for a burger – and wow what a burger, it was hugh, and had carrots on it. Then back on the road – tight left and loose right. And on to Lynn and Barrie’s without an incident.
We were met by a small black and white dog, barking like crazy. He settled down after we got a hug, so we were ok.
We sat around and caught up on what we were doing. It was so nice to see them again. We sat out on the back deck and talked and talked. We moved inside when the sun came around. we decided that we would take their motorhome and wander toward Rotorua. I wilted and went to bed early.
18 & sunny – what a novel idea!!! Perfect – not too hot to be outside. So, are you two still alive? How’s the driving going? Which side of the road do you drive on in NZ?? Lovin your blog and pics…………..keep them coming
Hi Jean and Vicki! I finally caught up to your site! It sounds wonderful there, and warm, too! It was great to see friends right away and do some sites with them. Now who did the greeting to Vicki on the radio, did you find out? The photos are great! Have fun!
