Slept in till 8 again today, the beds are so comfortable. We had breakfast and said our goodbyes, and we are off again on the left side of the road. We decided to take the long way to where we are going. Nice windy roads, going very slow. I pulled off whenever there were people behind us. It is a little overcast, but still warm.
We stopped in Waihi for lunch, and again had an enormous burger and Kumara fries (like yam fries, only better). Then drove along a very windy road to Whangamata. After driving around Whangamata, we figureed they didn’t have any motels, but we finallly found one. We got a room at the Cabana Motel, upstairs with a great view. It is like some of the motels that we stop at in the states, not a chain, and it has seen better days, but it is clean, and has a fridge.
So we have stepped in the South Pacific – nice and warm. Wow what a view, a couple of islands close by, looks like something from a movie. We wandered back to the motel to get our swimming togs, and stopped by the local store to get some stuff for supper.

Back to the hotel, and into our swim suits and right back to the beach and into the water. Wow. The water was so nice, and we had a great time riding the waves.
Back to the store to get some cool beer to go with tea (supper). It has clouded over, so no sunset tonight. The people down stairs have a whiny kid who cries every 10 minutes or so. Now they are cooking, and it smells like onions – o ya. Hopefully the kid sleeps through the night.
We are going through all the photos and uploading a bunch more.
