Tuesday in Costa Rica

Tuesday Up and down to the pool. We wandered down to the pool up just before 8 o’clock and the lot of the pool chairs were already taken. We found the spot away from the pool, one row back that had a lot of sun and plopped our stuff down. Into the pool we went. I did my knee exercises and then wandered around in the pool. Not many people so that’s a good thing. Then back to our loungers and chilling in the sun. That only lasted about an hour. We are not used to just sitting around. Off to find breakfast. They have the best pico de Gallo and with eggs – that’s the best breakfast. Wandered out to the lobby and saw our Sunwing/Nexus rep – Sharley. We stopped to talk to her and give her the gears. She told they are releasing the turtles today at 5:15, so we have something to do later. Off to explore the OMG shops (o my god it costs that much) – we perused by did not buy anything. Saw some neat turtle trinkets that someone I know would like. I’ll look at the local shops in Coco Beach when we go on Friday. It is getting hot, 32 and blue sky. We checked in at the gym and said yup there’s machines to work out on. Then left, and wandered, back into the hotel by the back way, to the sports bar and some water. And then a mojito- my new favourite drink. We cooled down and then off to find lunch. More pico de gallo, chips, cheese and guacamole for lunch – o so good. Siesta time – the sun is too strong to be in direct sunlight. Off to the beach for the turtle release. Lots of people showed up, but they had the beach roped off. We got to the front of the crowd about 1/2 way to the ocean. The turtles had hatched about 6 this morning. They brought out a big tub and gently put them in the sand. Most of them just lay there, but after a few took off the rest got the idea. They were only about 2 inches long, very small. Now to go for supper and then a dip in the pool after dark. We sat outside the Liberian – the buffet- we didn’t feel like standing in line for the other restaurants. Had pasta made to order and some sparkling wine. Pasta was good the wine was very dry. Down to the pool only to find out it was closed- drats. O well, we’ll go sit somewhere in the semi dark and I’ll drink some more. There were clouds in the sky today, but it was a good day.

  1. You seem to be doing a lot of wandering and eating! What is pico de gallo?
The baby turtles look so cute. Wonder how many will survive being eaten?

  2. Holiday sounds like it is off to a good start! You will just get used to sitting around and it will be time to come home!!!!!
