March 21

slept in unntil 7:30 – wahoo!! We started out slow, but we sure sped up. We went out the door around 10, and off to the rain forest. We drove up to Mt. Tamborine, and had a wander about the street, looking at all the crafty stuff. This was after we took a side street to turn around and then sort of didn’t know where we were for a bit. Ross said he never knew that part of town existed. We stopped to find out where the sky walk was, had a cold drink, and then away again.
We stopped at Cedar Creek and went for a wander through the rain forest, down to a small water falls, then back up and we decided it was time for a meat pie.
Well no one had a meat pie, we all had hamburgers. Vicki & Heather & Ross had “the works”, and I had a plain burger. Boy were theburgers ever big, and with everything – egg, beetroot, carrots, cheese, pineapple, lettuce tomato.
We went to Skywalk, and went out on a walkway high up in the trees. It was about a 45 minute walk. Half the time up high, and the way back on the ground. I found a nice plastic tree frog for my wall.
Then in the car and off again. We stopped where they hang glide off the side of the mountain but the wind was going the wrong way, so no one was there.
Back in the car again and off to O’rielly’s for another elevated forest walk. This one was all donated work. A board walk and then up onto suspension bridges to pylons. From there Vicki & Heather climbed up a ladder up into a very tall tree. After they came back down we wandered the rest of the way around the walk. It was about 3000 ft above sea level adn only +18, so Ross & Heeather were cold. We stopped at the little cafe and they had a coffee, I had a cold coke.
Then back in the car and down the nountain we went. The sun was setting so part way down we stopped and watched the sunset – it was pretty good. Down the rest of the way, and then trying to find Panorama Street in the dark. We were all laughing and giggling. Ross said we were punch drunk. We finally found it and wow what a view of Surfers – nice.
Then back down and back to the house. We are all kind of tired. After the big lunch we had, Heather heated up the pumpkin soup and made toast for supper. It was great. We then had to play more crib, just to give them more practise.
