We wandered back up Highway 50, and had a roadside seat for the wagon train. We had stopped on the side of the road to take a few photos of the river, and noticed that traffic was backing up. So we went up to the next turn out and pulled over in the shade, and within a couple of minutes, the police car leading the wagon train came around the corner. So we ran across the road to be on the same side as the wagons.
We took photos as the went by, waving and talking to the people.
We then continued on up the highway, stopping to take photos here and there. The snow around some of the cabins up there is at least a couple of feet deep. We stopped in Lake Tahoe as we were hungary. We also had the need to loose twenty bucks in the slot machines.
Continuing on to Carosn Valley to take photos of the flooding, but there wasn’t any. The water has receeded quite a bit, but it is still muddy on the sholders of the highway.
We came back in the afternoon, and stopped to take a short hike through the trees toward a waterfall. We took more photos, and decided not to go all the way to the waterfall, we will leave this for a later date.
