Well we are home safe and sound. It took us a while to get organized once we got in the door.
We left Victoria and wandered toward Kamloops. Along the way we stopped along the highway to wander in a great field of lupines and take photos. We stopped to visit relatives, couldn’t stay long enough, we had to get home, so I could get to work (darn I said I wouldn’t swear).
The drive home was good, not that much traffic compared to I5 in the States. After all the driving in the last week, it looks like both Canadians and Americans drivers shut their brains off when driving and always have a phone glued to their ear. Somewhere north of Kamloops an SUV went flying by us, going at least 130 KM, well, we passed them an hour or so later. The SUV was totaled, it look like it rolled a couple of times, the people were being attended to by paramedics and firemen. Not a good start to the Canada Day weekend.
We got to see the top Mount Robson, it’s the first time in 3 years or so that there haven’t been any clouds covering the top when we wandered by. We stopped by Mt Robson Lodge, they had lots of lupines out in full bloom, so we got some shots of the mountain with the lupines in front.
I put some photos up, the link to the vacation photos is on the left side of this page. I will try to get some more photos up sometime today.
On the whole the vacation was great, even though the Americans complained about high gas prices – they should talk. The most we paid was 4.67$ a gal in the States, which is way cheaper than 1.46$ a liter that we paid in BC.
O well time to get back to the mundain things like cutting the grass, and pulling weeds from the rock garden.
