in St. George

Well we are in St. George a day sooner than we were going to be.
We left Butte at 8 this morning and in Salt Lake City at 2 pm, and didn’t really want to stop for that the day early, so we pressed on. We pulled into St. George at 6:30 in the rain.
The trip today was uneventful, until we got about 20 miles from St. George. We were watching what looked like a rain storm get closer, when we got there, it turned on to be a wind storm – at least 50 mph winds. Needless to say we went from 75 mph to about 40 mph and so did everyone else. Couldn’t see very far, with all the crap on the road and the dust and dirt flying.
The grill on the front of my car is full of tumble weeds and crap. The really bad winds lasted about 10 minutes, then it slowed down to about 20 mph and it started to pour.
We got in safe and sound and found the motel.
Also, I am in technology h*ll. Last night the wifi was slower than dialup. And since we crossed the border, my expensive iphone is a very expensive brick. It can not connect to anything. I have played with all the settings, turned it off and on, and short of throwing it against a wall, I give up.
Went to Wal-mart, and bought a disposable phone. Had to jump through hoops to set it up. How can criminals on tv get throw away phones and use them so easily ?? Must be a tv thing. So the disposable phone now works, but I won’t be able to call Canada for 2 days – whats with that?
Anyway, after getting the phone we found the pizza joint we had pizza from last year, and went in for supper. O it was so good !! The best thing that happened today.
And ya, the wifi here is actually fast.
Now I am going to have a drink and settle down and watch some tv.

  1. Well, glad to hear you made it there safe and sound – even if you were speeding faster than the rest! At least you will be able to sleep in tomorrow morning! I sent you the link to the video. Have a good few days before you have to play ball – don’t lose your shirt (or ball uniform) in Vegas!
