May 8

Woke up to the same weather- heavy overcast and windy. Not raining yet, and the wind isn’t howling- a plus.
All the usual fair for breakfast, except we got fresh made bacon and eggs.
Still blowing and raining, some tourists here complaining about the weather- like the people here could change it.
Off we went through the wind and the rain. Not much traffic. Stopped at Stokkseyri a small fishing village where we saw an old fishing hut. It was covered in sod. From there we stopped at Eyrarbakki. We drove out onto the old wharf and took some photos. Lots of d well preserved buildings- reminded me of the east coast.
Off again down the road and had to stop to take a photo of a recliner sitting beside a small lake- like the National Park’s red chairs.
Then off again down the road to see an old church. Neat little church with a pipe organ in the choir loft. Found the WC and then we were off again.
We stopped at the Blue Lagoon and walked around it. The water was either turquoise or white. Not that warm either.
It started to rain again, so back to the car.
We did a little house cleaning in the car as we are dropping it off shortly.
On the road and back to Reykjavik. We went around in circles because I pressed the home button – who knows where it was taking us. Found the address in the favourites and got to the place. Paid for gas to fill it and gave it back.
Got a lift to the hotel and we are back.
