another day on tour

May 3
a wakeup call at 06:45 – but we are not getting up – everyone gets a wakeup call. Wandered around for a bit,
found an internet cafe and a bakery for a flan and a roll. Off to the Lovre to pick up the rest of the troup – we toured the basement
of the Lovre. To Napoleon’s Tomb – 7 kilos of gold on the dome at the top.

To the Eiffel Tower during the daylight.

Up to the second level
There was some polution in the air, but not as much as I expected. after taking photos we were off again – no rest for the wicked.
Down the Champs Eleyes to the Arch de Triumph. Wandered arounf there for a bit and had lunch at a typical french place – Mcdonalds.
Tonight we went to the Moulin Rouge Cabaret – WOW !! loud and right in your face. The women on this tour were wondering why
only the ladies on stage were half naked, and not the men as well. Back thru Paris. At midnight it looked as though all 2.5
million residents of Paris were stillup and out at the street cafes and pubs.
May 4
wakeup call at 6:30, we were already up and ready to go – I don’t know why, the wine was quite good last night. We were on the road before 8
this morning – a long tevelling day ahead of us. About 550 km to Bordeaux. We stopped at Chateau Chenonceau for a couple of hours.

Built on island on the River Cher. The gardens were excellant. Grabbed a jambon and fromage pain, about 16 inches long and 2 wide –
they make the best bread here. Then on the bus and down the road…. for a couple of more hours of travelling.
Into Bordeax about 6, and have a room overlooking the lake – nice sunset coming up. Drats, the clouds rolled in, and no sunset.
We all gathered in the dinning Room for supper – salmon o well the bread is very good.
Tomorrow we get to sleep in.
May 5
We are on our way to Lordes today. So far it looks overcast, but warm it is 14 right now at 07:00 – so much for sleeping in.
