To the airport about 3 hrs before take off. I beeped going through security, both my packs got checked. They had to look in my PacSafe bag and check out my monopod. Then we waited, and waited. Looks like we are 2 of the few English speaking people on board. Talked to a guy who said I should board early – I must have been limping a lot – didn’t notice. The plane was ok, we had 2 seats on the side, so no one bugging us, just each other. There was a kid on the plane who was challenged, he yelled a lot and bounced around for most of the flight. We must have had a head wind, we got in to Amsterdam about 3/4hr ahead of schedule. And some where along the line it became Feb 19. Off and walking from one end of Schiphol airport to the other, going through passport control in the middle. We had been sitting at the gate for probably 3/4hr when they said .. gate change. So back through the airport, about 1/2 way back. We got our walking in today. On the plane to Lisbon, and it’s hot!! Off comes my sweatshirt and get the air flowing. Had a little sleep. Landed really hard, the door on the luggage rack across from me popped open, good thing there was a fast acting tall guy to grab it and push it back closed. Nice guy picked us up in a Mercedes and took us to the hotel. Nice little room, now to go out and explore. And find some tarts. Found some tarts and Portuguese beer right next door. Nice didn’t have to walk far. Had a ham and cheese croissant as well. It was expensive – about 10$CAD – wow. Went for a little walk in the other direction and then decided that was enough for now
