May 24 – Wednesday – time is running to fast
We get to sleep in today, because we aren’t going up the mountain to ride in a donkey cart. Finally we get a slower pace in the morning.
It looks like it rained over night, but is trying to clear. THere is a crappy weather front trying to come down from Germany, and I keep
telling everyone, that there will be bad weather in front of us, to will clear while we are here, and then it will close in behind us, and be crappy
when we leave a place. Breakfast is ok, and now to the coffee shop to get a connection.
Uploaded the blog, and the photos, now we are off to go up Mount Pilatus in a cog wheel train.
Now that was something, a 48% grade at times.
It smelled so nice going up through the trees.
Everything is so green here. It cleared off just as we got to the top. You could see for miles in some directions.
Brian started it this time – another snowball fight.
All the Aussies were amazed at the texture of the snow, and how different it was to
what was at the top of the pass yesterday. We explained the difference between old dirty snow, and fresh new snow.
Then the clouds decended again, and it snowed. All the Aussie had their photos taken.
We took the cable car down the other side of the mountain. Paul was sitting on the floor, he is very afraid of heights.
We switched half way down to a smaller, 4 seater, cable car.
Once down we all climbed into the coach, and went to the old town to get our
free spoon and do some shopping
I bought some chocolate – you can never have too much of that. We had lunch and then wandered back to the hotel.
Neither of us knew where it was, but we wandered in the general direction, until we saw somthing familiar – a white coach, and sure enough,
there was the hotel.
