Amsterdam …… the end is in sight

May 25 – Thursday up early again
At breakfast everyone was talking about the noise last night. It sems today is a holiday over here, so everyone was at the disco in the basement
last night. The music dudn’t stop until about 5 this morning. I could hear the thump of the music and laughter and tires screeching most of the nite.
David & Natasha went to the disco, but had to leave after about 30 minutes, the smoke was too much for them. It seems like everyone
here smokes. The sun is shinning, but we are going north into a big weather front.
We stopped to see the Rhine Falls, everyone tried to be suitably impressed. They are only about 90 ft high, but have the largest volume of
water going through them (12,000 l/sec) in all of Europe.
When we were going back up the steps to the coach, a little old lady just behind me fell, and Vicki caught her.
Off through Germany we go.

We had to stop to hand in a tax form. The customs people here are the same as ours, no sense of humor.
On to the Black Forest, we stopped to see how Koo Koo clock are made. We just made it in ahead of a couple of BIG tour groups. We wandered out back
and went up through the trees. It was nice and quiet, green and smelled great.

We followed a little creek for a while, but then it was time
to go back to the coach. We stopped at Hiedleberg to look a the castle and have a bathroom break.

We wandered the town a little bit, walked part
way across the bridge, then back on the coach again.
We stopped Wiesbaden-Eberheim for the night. The supper was way better than last night.

May 26 – close to being over….
Up early and a drive down the Rhine looking at castles. Then onto a boat for a trip up the Rhine, not bad, except those 2 other BIG tour groups
have caught up to us – they are not elegant (they are pushy, and shove people, and dont look for the empty spaces). We sat at the front
of the boat and had hot chocolate.

Then back on the coach and away we go.
We stopped in Clone to see a Catherdral and a lunch break. A mistake, it was raining, there were about 1 million people, and it was just
like being in Italy again – except they were pushing and shoving and it was raining.
But we were in another church, St. Marys, where the golden sarcophagus for the 3 wise men is.

toward Amsterdam. We got to the hotel around 5. They don’t make the streets here for cars & coaches,
it is easier to get around if you walk, take the train or ride a bicycle. We saw a 3 story bicycle garage – 5000 bikes.
Enough time to freshen up and then we are off for another boat ride, this time around the canals of Amsterdam.

I am glad the gravol is working.

The canal trip was great, the driver was hitting on Vicki. For supper we went to a floating resturant. I’ve had enough riding on water for
the day. The food was very good.
On to the coach for a short trip up the street. The off the coach, and our walking tour of the red light district – o fun.

What a bunch of wierd people. About 40 minutes later we were back at the hotel. We tried to make a phone call, but the @#$%^&* thing doesn’t
work with the phone card. O well back to the room to wash some clothes.
