Up around 7:30. Nice easy start to the day. Had breakfast outside on the back deck.
We are up and had breakfast, phoned Canada to get caught up on things and the weather. It will be about +30 and blue sky today, maybe a shower later in the day.
More new photos.
Ross cut the lawn, and after that we got in the car and off we went toward Springbrook Mountain, about 1000 meters above Surfers Paradise.
Up this narrow windy road to the “Best of All Lookout”. We wandered along a path through the rain forest for about 300 meters. Wow, what a forest, no wonder it is World Heritage listed. The trees and ferns were amazing, and as the Ozzies say, it was brilliant. We spent a long time on this short walk through the trees.
Once we got back out we went down to another lookout. This looked over about 5 different waterfalls, and you could see to the coast. What an amazing view, brilliant again. We spent so much time at both stops, that we headed home for lunch.
On the way down the mountain, the brakes started to sound funny, so we headed straight home. We had lunch, and then watched the video Ross took of the koala that we saw on the way back from Dubbo. Then Ross headed to the shop with the car to get it checked out.
Mean while, we went for a dip in the pool. It was much warmer out than yesterday. I think the temperature today was +30.
After Heather got home, we went next door to visit, and watch a thunder & lighting storm roll in. It was neat. We watched an old dog from the place next to where we were, jump in the water and swim across to the other side. They were kind of amazed that the sharks didn’t get the dog, as it was about the time the sharks usually feed.
We wandered back to the house, where Heather had the veggies for supper almost ready. Ross bbq’d the chops, and supper was served.
Another great day wound slowly down. No sunset, as the clouds were very thick.
