done driving for the day

Well we got to Lethbridge and decided to stop. We left the city at 1:30 and got into Lethbridge at 7. The drive was ok, road was dry most of the way, except for Calgary. It was snowing, raining, sleeting, the roads were very wet and the people were driving like maniacs. But we made it through going slower than everyone else was.
From talking to the person at the hotel desk, it was a good idea to stop, the roads south of here were snow and ice covered today. There is still a snowfall advisory for tonight, but we will see what the roads are like in the morning.
The highway was dry everywhere except Calgary, so the drive was way easier than I thought it would be.
Nothing of note happened on the drive, except when we stopped for gas in Fort MacLeod we got some ice cream – not that the wind wasn’t howling, and it was -8 with the wind chill.
We are now snug as a bug in the hotel, and will probably not venture onto the highway south until after 10 tomorrow morning, and maybe not at all if it is snowing like they say it might.
