yes, I survived

I was told I had a good eye, and Laurie never really touched my images except one, to show me something new in Photoshop. What she showed me will save hours of selection time, I think.
Anyway, back to the room to get changed and organized for the last shoot – along the Colorado River Gorge.

Well that was fun – it was a “drive by shooting” as I call it. We drove along the river, until Moose or Laurie or Kevin or Joe saw something they wanted to shoot, and we all pulled off the road, about 12 cars loads. We stopped 3 times, and when we stopped, anyone driving by also stopped, because when you see 30 + people standing on the side of the road with tripods and lenses long enough to choke a horse, something must be going on. And actually it looked like everyone that stopped was a little disappointed, because we were watching the clouds and the sun’s trip down the side of some of the spires. Nothing out of the ordinary or of interest except the light, and how it shaped the canyon.
We got back to the lodge around 8:30, with enough time to change our clothes, and wander back to the main lodge and get a drink to celebrate the end of 3 days of shooting and little sleep.
We then got the priviledge of seeing 8 to 10 images from everybody. We think that Vicki got second with her image of a rain storm behind North Window in Arches National Park. I got a camera strap because I told Moose yesterday that I had time for a nap – after that he bugged me every chance he got.

We exchanged some email addresses had a laugh or two, said goodbye to the DLWS team, and slowly wandered back to our room.

We got organized and packed up, so we are ready to hit the road early tomorrow morning.

I hear the wild flowers at Arches are the best they have been for a long time – lots of rain lately. So we are making a stop about 10 minutes after we leave the lodge.

I don’t know how far we will get tomorrow, because we have only had about 10 hours sleep since Sunday morning, so we are running on the “drink of champions” – coke.
