We hung around the house this morning, watching the heat rise. We were good, we took our gloves and went out to practice on the grass, but it turns out they water the golf course morning and night, so we ended up on the road.
After a snack we took of towards Needles California. That town looks old and used. Then I wanted to take an old part of Route 66, but it turned out to be a really old paved road with big pot holes so we only went about 1/2 a mile and turned back.
We took another part of Route 66 that had good pavement, but it was a good thhing I was driving. The road had lots of little hills and valleys, the kind that if you are driving really fast you leave your stomach at the top.
There is nothing in the Mojave except cactus and sand and rocks.
Back to Laughlin and a visit to the visitor center to get info about the area. Then to the Riverside casino so Keith could check out the old car display and for us to loose more money. Then we went shopping for a few essentials, and then back to the house.
We all seem tired today, it must be the heat – 110F. We had a light supper and then played cards.
