Go Steve Go !!

Off to the Waterford Crystal place. We wandered through the showroom, everyone saying “holy crap!” – well I said that about the prices. Then we took a tour through the back to see the crystal being blown and etched. We found some Portuguese custard tarts and they jumped in our hands, so we had to eat them. Not as good as the ones at home, but still darn good.
Then back on the coach and off towards lunch. This tour sounds like it is all about stopping to eat, and it feels like it too. We stopped in Killkenny for lunch. First we went on a little train ride through the old part. It felt like we were adults on a kiddy’s ride.
Lots of narrow winding streets and lots of people. We wandered about taking some photos and then made our way back to the castle to find some lunch. We were good we had soup, and split a piece of lemon meraunge pie. The thing was about 5 inches high.
From there it was on the coach and off without a tea stop to Dublin. Through some heavy rain and hail and winds. We went straight to Trinity University to see The Book of Kells. No line up so that was a good move to do this today and not tomorrow. The Long Room was amazing – 2 story room withrows and rows of old books.
We wandered the street a bit waiting for Steve to come and pick up and take us to our abode for the next 2 nights.
Tonight we went to Taylors Three Rock for an Irish Caberet. What fun. Lots of toe tapping music and a comedian who didn’t swear! Lots of laughs and even more on the coach back to the hotel. On the way we saw the lights of Dublin.
Go Steve Go – refers to.. when we left the caberet, there was one coach in front of us leaving the parking lot. At one corner our tour guide told Steve to go a different way than the coach in front, and we would get to the hotel before them. So we became Steve’s cheering squad through the lights.
We made it back safely and first.
