Well we didn’t win any money in the casino, but we had fun.
Onwards toward Bridgport today. Very few clouds in the sky, and it is above 70F. That is good. We got in just after lunch and checked into the motel. Same room as last year. Nothing has changed. Still clean.
We went out to Bodie around 5 pm, met up with our leader and wandered into the town. It is so nice to wander around and not have anyone wander into your shot – during the day anyway.
We watched the sun disappear behind the hills, and went back to the car to get our sweatshirts and the big flashlight. As soon as the sun disappears, the temp drops. Tonight it is supposed to get down to around 42F – cold for the Californians.
We did some light painting while there was still light in the sky and very few stars. We tried some buildings and then an old truck. I think the truck ones will be good.
Then we wandered over to an old well that had a bucket on it. I got off a couple of shots before some of our group wandered over with there lights shining on our subject – tourists.
The one of the guys and I went over to an old car, away from everybody. We did some long shots with a little light painting on the car. The we did even longer shots without painting, but the motion light came on over the barn, and lit the car slightly from the side. I think one of those is a keeper.
It is late, so I didn’t have time to download or look at the images – but in my mind there are a couple of great shots.
Tomorrow we spend all day there, we get to go into about 6 or 8 buildings while the tourists just watch and try to get in – ha ha!
