Tuesday

Tuesday

Up bright and early – 5:00, 3/4 of an hr earlier than we need to be. Sun shining and no clouds in the sky. A good day to travel.
We have just coins left in Danish Kroners, so the maid gets a little tip with a bottle of coke and a can of beer. I’m not taking the coke on the coach and open it.
Down for breakfast and grab some fruit for the day. We grabbed some rolls and muffins to have for lunch. Up to the room for last minute stuff and then to the coach. Paul had grabbed the seats he figured we would need to be both at the front at the same time.
On the coach and off we go under and then over the Oresund Straight into Sweden.
Wifi on the coach !!
Long day on the coach. First part of the day is through farm land. Looks similar to North America. First rest stop at 9:30 was at a gas station. I thought I could use an ATM to get a few Kroners, but no luck. Back on the coach and now we are driving through trees. It’s like driving around the Great Lakes, not much to see except trees – spruce and pine.
We stopped 3 times, twice for a coffee and pee break and for lunch. For lunch we sat outside on the rocks and ate the croissants that we took at breakfast along with some bananas and pears.
We got into Stockholm about 4pm. Got our rooms, we are at the Hilton! We are going out for a little walk about and the for supper to a 15th century cellar.

So on the coach and off to a tourist lookout spot to take photos. The a short walk through the old town. Saw the palace and the guard yelled at a tourist (not one of us) to stop. She was getting to close. The cathedral, big building and then to the restaurant and down into the cellar. Curved ceiling made of red brick. Very loud with all of us talking. Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes for supper. I had onion soup first and ice cream with cloud berries for desert.
You could have rolled us all out of there. No one wanted to walk back. Once back at the hotel we all went to our rooms, groaning.
We need to pack an overnight bag for tomorrow as we are on the ferry to Finland.
Now to rest.
