Feb 20

Today we go to the Blue Mountains. I posted some photos from yesterday.
We packed up the car, Paul says we have half the bloddy store in the boot (trunk), and off we went.
We drove toward Sydney, and then headed off east through what looked like bush, except there where little towns in behind. We stopped at some falls, that according to Paul were not there, but they were. Wandered down some steps and an easy walk (not really) to the lookout. If we had all day and were in any kind of shape, we could have walked all the way down to the valley floor.
We aren’t so we didn’t. After we crawled back up the easy walk, we had morning tea, cold drinks and some TimTams (chocolate covered cookies – mmmmm). Then onward to the next place – Three Sisters, and the Jamison Valley Lookout. This was an easy walk to the viewing area. Vicki and Paul decided to go down to the Three Sisters, Jen and I stayed and guarded the stuff ( in the shade).
Onward again to Laural Cascades (not the right name). We took half the store out of the trunk and had lunch. 2 salads, cold chicken, sliced ham, cheeze, beet root, very good buns, lots of cold drinks and TimTams for desert.
Then a walk to see the cascades, on a damp and soggy trail. A noce walk, Jen was hopeing a platypus would show up – no luck.
On to the next stop, over to where the cable cars run. We decided to go down and up. We took the steepest cable car in Australia. Wow, a short ride, but a very big incline.
We bought a couple of tshirts, and were off again. This time to another great loookout, but way less people. Nice.
Then we headed the car back home, except we took a different way. We sent the back roads, and a ferry across the Hawksberry river. That was a great drive, hardly any traffic (everyone was leaving the city for the weekend), nice scenic roads, but no kangaroos.
We are all tired, so pizza is on tap for supper. We checked out the photos. Then sat out on the deck and had supper and I drank more beer.
