March 13

Up at 5 am, had a quick cup of tea and a piece of toast, and then off into the dark we drove, watching for kangaroos once it started to get light.
We stopped for breakfast at a McDonalds, and then off again. Along the way, there was a sign that warned of Koalas, and Ross said, if you see one, I will stop. About 20 seconds later, I spotted one, and I don’t thin he believed me, but he stopped. And sure enough, there he was sitting high up in a tree. He watched us walk up to the tree, then he decided we were no threat, so he went to sleep. I took a bunch of shots, and then we were off again.
We stopped for petrol, and then I got to drive, and Ross sat in the back seat. He said it was nice there. Nothing happened while I waas driving, except Ross got to have a nap.
We stopped in Trenterville to look at a saddlery, but it was closed, so we went across the stree and had a pie & chips in the hotel pub. Both Vicki and I lost 20$ in the pokies (slots).
Back in the car and we were off again. I promptly fell asleep. Once when I woke up, Ross said he neededa photos, of something we had just passed, so he turned around and went back. It was a bunch of rocks, with 3 statues of kangaroos. We took some photos, adn then piled back in the car and off again.
Through the mountains before the coast it was raining, and heavy clouds. We got back to the house around 5:30.
Heather had supper waiting for us, how good is that ! After supper we watched the opening night of footy. Vicki got right into it. Just like watching a ball game at home, except Heather gave her a pillow to mangle instead of my sholder.
And we think our game of football is so tough. These guys play in shorts and a tshirt, no padding, and there really is no stop in play. They run for 70 minutes virtually non stop.
We wandered off to bed after the second game.
