Well I didn’t have a very good start to the night last night. As I was falling asleep, the darned gecko outside my window decided to make a racket. Woke me up with a start. Then after settling down again, the big fruit bats decided to have a squabble. They sounded like cats. I got up and went into Vicki’s room and said, I think Pogo has followed us, it sounds like she is outside the window.
This morning we went fora walk over to where Ross plays tennis, had a wander around the pond, and then back to the house.
Then in the car and off to Burleigh Heads for a walk along the ocean through a bit of a rain forest. A nice walk through the forest along the rocks. We saw a large water dradon, he just sat on the rock and let us take all the photos we wanted.
Then we went looking for a meat pie for lunch. We found some ggod ones at the bakery, and took them to the park to eat. After we finished up we talk off our shoes and had a walk in the beach and into the water. We got wet a bit.
We jumped back in the car and headed back to the house. It wasn’t that hot out, only about 27, but we went for a dip in the pool. Afte we got out and got cleaned up, we met a couple of neighbors and had a good chat.
Now we are just waiting to go out for the night to the show – Outback Australia. It is a live show with supper. Should be interesting.
Ross drove us out to the place. There was a good sunset on the way. Lots of people going in. Of course you had to go through the gift shop to get in. We got a drover hat (straw cowboy hat). There was a guy singing country songs by the bar while we waited to go in. The area is smaller than a hockey rink, but the same idea. It was like sitting in the box seats at an Oilers game. The table was in front of us with our salads already there. They came by often to fill my beer glass. The show was really good. They had to be really good at handling horse in that small area. There was even a helicopter in it (on a rail across the roof). The show was the story of how Australia has grown up – from the Aboriginal times through to today, with the outback as the central theme – no citystuff.
Ross was outside the door, and we were wisked away back to the house.
