March 19

We are going to take the bus to Seaworld today.
There was another earthquake in Melbourne, abour 4.6. We are not close, about 1200 K’s away.
New photos are up.
So onto the bus and off to SeaWorld. Ross walked us to the bus stop again. It took about 1/2 hr to get there.
We got in, got the map, and sat down to figure out where we wanted to go first. Off to the pengiuns, to see the feeding. They are the only penguins to breed in mainland Australia. They are the fairy penguins, only little guys about 1kg in weight, and 30 cm. long. Then off to the dolphin show. Wow those dolphins can jump. Then we wandered to the stingray tank and felt them up – some feel rubbery and some are ruff like sandpaper.
Well now, there is a hotdog stand, so we made for that for lunch. After lunch we walked over to see the Canadian polar bears. Only one of them was out, but he/she wandered around a bit. Got a couple of good photos. Then over to the shark tank, we went down under to the underwater viewing – wow – hundreds of fish and lots of beautiful coral, and of course different kinds of sharks. We wandered back to the sea lions, but they weren’t out, so then back to wait for the 4D show.
It is called Planet SOS – was that ever brilliant. It looked like the sea horse was floating right in front of my nose. And the monkey hit me with a coconut (well at least I didn’t duck like a lot of people did). In the show, we got wind and smoke and a sprinkle of water, and some smells and even some dust. it was a great show.
We decided we were tired, so we made our way back to the bus stop, and waited. Jumped on the bus, adn back to the house, and of course into the pool we went. O so refreshing. Heather was already home, adn supper was on the go. Both of us could have dropped asleep in 2 seconds, but we didn’t.
We played crib after supper. Heather and Ross have never played it before, so we had fun. We had a good time.
While we were playing cards, I saw a shadow move on the floor, Ross never said anything, then Heather screamed, and Vicki was up on the chair so fast. It was a huntsman spider, about 2 inches across. They don’t bite – supposedly, but Ross used a plastic bucket to catch it, and then released it outside. I actually didn’t know Vicki could still move that fast. It was kinda funny 🙂
Then we fell into bed.
