We left about 9 in the morning on Wednesday, and got to the Monterey pennisula around noon. We found the motel we wanted, and went in and booked the room. Since the room wasn’t ready, we wandered down to the wharf. We had lunch at the Fish Hopper. It wasn’t all that good, but we got some cans of chowder. Back to the motel to take a look at the room. The room looked great, and the place was so quiet. We put our stuff in the room, and then took off for the water.
Lots of rocks, by the lighthouse, so we wandered around on the rocks and took some photos. The we just sat on a bench and waited for the sun to go down.
What a fantastic sunset……… after the sun went down the clouds that wandered into the area had red reflections – very nice. We hung around for at least a half an hour after the sun had disppeared, and so did everyone around us. I think they thought we were pros, so they waited for us to do something. After that we wandered back to the wharf to get some great mexican food. Man that flan was worth waiting for.
We slept in on Thursday morning, had a half a muffin when we checked out, then on the road to wander over to the sierra foothills. We drove arounf much of the day, and got back to Sacramento around 5. After about 10 minutes to rest, we took off to Thunder Valley – to loose money.
Friday morning we took of toward Tahoe. We stopped to get breakfast – and had a great laugh when Francis ordered off the “seniors” menu and it was bigger than the other 2 breakfasts. We drove into the mountains to take some photos of the re-growth forest. Then on the Jackson to the casino to see if we actually get 50$ free money to play the slots.
Well what do you know they are actually giving away 50$ with the coupon from the net. And what to you know I won 190$ without spending any of my money. YA!! We stayed there for about 4 hours, and then decided to see if we would be lucky in Thunder Valley. So off we went – through Sacrameto in Friday afternoon rush hour. We shared burgers for supper and then off to spend money. Well I am still ahead – surprise surprise.
