From London to Stratford Upon Avon

\Well we rolled out of bed at 6:00 again. Got our suitcases organized, and then down for breakfast. They collected the bags and we waited around to leave.
Off on our Britain and Ireland journey at 9:00.
Our first stop was Oxford. wow a lot of very old buildings and people riding bicycles. The students aren’t allowed to have a car while attending Oxford. We wandered through Trinity College, stopped in the chapel where there was a student singing. The sound was great. We shared a baguette for lunch. We sat on the steps of the memorial to the martyers – 3 bishops that were burned at the stake when Queen Mary wanted to go back to Catholisim. The wind was cold, but the sun shone most of the time.
After 2 hours, we were back on the coach and off toward Stratford Upon Avon. But we made an unscheduled stop at Blaydon, where Churchill is buried. A neat old church yard with lots of character. I could have stayed here a while to take photos. We saw a couple of snow flakes while we were wandering around the graveyard. Everyone made a beeline for the coach. What the heck it wasn’t even that cold!
On to Stratford, once there our tour guide deposited us at the house where Shakespeare was born. We went through the house and grounds, kinda neat. There were a couple of people doing “Shakespeare on demand”. Someone would mention a play, and they would do line from it. After 2 hours we were whisked away to the hotel.
The hotel is old, like everything else here. We decided to wait and go out after supper. We left at 6:00 and were driven to the resturaunt, a short walk, but a long drive becasue of the one way roads. We sat and talked to some of our tour mates. The food was good, but the talk was better. WE got back to the hotel, grabbed our cameras and headed out to take some night photos at the bridge. it has cooled off quite a bit, with heavy cloud cover. But I think we got some good images even though I didn’t bring a tripod.
I will upload some photos tomorrow – no internet copnnection in the room tonight.
