We had breakfast and then departed around 9:00 for York. We went by way of Coventry.
In Coventry we stopped to seee the church – one of the only things left standing after the Germans bombed the city in WWII. The walls were stnading, but no roof. It was kinda neat.
Everyone was cold, it is only about 8 with a lot of clouds hanging around, and it looks like rain.
We jumped back on the coach and headed for York. We made a pit stop along the way for a break. In to York around 1:30, then we walked to the centre of the old town, and Steve let us loose. Off we wandered to YorkMinster, and grand old cathedral. It was a massive church with lots of people wandering about.
We walked up and down the streets looking for something for lunch. WE settled ona sandwich from Hogsbreath Sandwich shop. We then went back to the square and sat on a bench and listened to some woman singing – she should not have quit her day job. Then we wandered back toward the river and then out around the wall, and some partically destroyed churches. It was great wandering around stuff that is hundreds and hundreds of yewars old.
Then back across the river Ooze toward teh caoch and a ride to the hotel.
Tonights hotel is a Marriot, so it looks like any other hotel room.
We have supper in the hotel tonight. That sounded like a good idea, because everyone sounded very tired after walking around on cobblestones for 4 hours.
